See how organisations around the world use WASP systems to protect their fuel and keep critical power running.

  • Single sourcing: Engine manufacture

    Single sourcing: Engine manufacture

A large multi-national engine manufacturer was seeking a company that could provide a strategic sourcing resource for both fast moving parts and niche purchases. The company was finding that its existing purchasing department was stretched and lacking in specialist knowledge of diesel engine components and accessories. The WASP procurement specialists were happy to step in to supplement the company’s existing sourcing team and provide a collaborative approach to supply chain management.
  • Maintaining clean fuel at Canary Wharf

Maintaining clean fuel at Canary Wharf

WASP’s fuel team were called by a facilities management company at Canary Wharf to sample the diesel in their two 70,000 litre bulk tanks.
  • Data centre protection against water contamination with Diesel Defence

Data centre protection against water contamination with Diesel Defence

WASP were called in the investigate issues related to fuel at a site for a critical data storage centre in a secure location.
  • Ensuring clean fuel at Good Hope Hospital

Ensuring clean fuel at Good Hope Hospital

Following a WASP Portable Diesel Monitoring test Good Hope Hospital found that their diesel was heavily contaminated. It contained substances such as colloid carbon (a substance that can clog filters and causes poor combustion). This meant the hospital needed to act quickly as the consequences of a blackout at a hospital would be catastrophic.
  • Pioneer Pump: Enhancing electric pump set monitoring with telemetry

Pioneer Pump: Enhancing electric pump set monitoring with telemetry

Since 2017, Pioneer Pump has championed telemetry on its diesel pump sets – a commitment now extended to its electric pump sets through a collaboration with WASP. These advanced electric units, powered by high-capacity variable frequency drives, are now supported by ORB telemetry for remote monitoring and control.
  • Emissions: James Hall (SCR/DPF)

    Emissions: James Hall (SCR/DPF)

As one of the county’s largest employers, James Hall wanted to enhance its role in the local community by reducing emissions years before regulatory limits came into force. Like many examples of their era, James Hall’s generators were only fitted with silencers. Although adding exhaust abatement systems was a significant investment, replacing the generators would have been a more expensive and disruptive way to meet the limits set by legislation such as the Medium Combustion Plant Directive (MCPD) and its local implementation, the Environmental Permitting Regulations, 2018.
  • Protecting back up power for facilities management

Protecting back up power for facilities management

WASP were called to a critical data centre near Chester after a critical power failure. During a power cut its generators stopped running after just 4 minutes. After investigation the client discovered water in their fuel tanks.
  • Fuel conditioning programme protects Kent & Canterbury Hospital

Fuel conditioning programme protects Kent & Canterbury Hospital

WASP were contacted by Puma Power Projects who were maintaining the gensets at Kent & Canterbury hospital. They had become concerned about the quality of fuel being used to power the generators and so requested a WASP Portable Contamination fuel test. The results showed that the diesel in each of the tanks was heavily contaminated.
  • Enovation: ULEMCo PV500 display

    Enovation: ULEMCo PV500 display

This world-first Ambulance incorporates zero-carbon hydrogen to provide energy through a fuel cell electric drivetrain. Giving up to a 300-mile range capability, it’s ready to go at any time whilst offering maximum operational capacity. The Ambulance crew have vital engine information at their fingertips thanks to the Enovation PV500 display, fully configured with PowerVisionTM Software.
  • Fuel tank cleaning service safeguards County Hospital Stafford

Fuel tank cleaning service safeguards County Hospital Stafford

Following a routine fuel test by WASP, County Hospital Stafford became aware of a problem lurking in the fuel tanks. The results showed that the stored diesel was heavily contaminated with water and asphaltene (hard, brittle particles that can agglomerate). If left this could have blocked engine filters, damaged fuel injectors or caused total generator failure. The team at County Hospital knew they had to act fast as the consequences of a total blackout would be catastrophic.
